What is a Webcast?

What is a Webcast? A webcast is a video broadcast of a live event or presentation that is shown live or on demand over the internet. Webcasting is used often in retail businesses, health and educational institutions and government offices for investor relations, e-learning and for related communications activities. Though webcasts could be about anything, its used mostly for a professional environment which allows interactive user participation.
